Join us on an excursion to the Arctic Circle and the Arctic Circle Centre

The Arctic Circle marks the entrance to the Arctic and marks the beginning of the two amazing phenomena’s midnight sun (Summer) and polar night (Winter) The Northern Lights is also more frequent north of the Arctic Circle.

Summer Program:

It is an approximate 50 minutes’ drive south from Rognan to reach the Arctic Circle Centre. Here you will find a large souvenir shop and get the opportunity to send postcards with the Artic Circle postmark. The area outside the centre has various monuments that are popular backgrounds for selfies. If the weather is nice, it is also a great area for hiking.

On our way back to Rognan, we make a stop at the Nordland National Park Museum. It has a great hiking area (including a small climbing park). The museum itself focuses on the various national parks in the area, local wildlife and Sami culture – and it even houses a beautiful art gallery.

Winter program:

It is an approximate 50 minutes’ drive south from Rognan to reach the Arctic Circle Centre. Depending on the snow conditions, we will stop a bit beyond the centre and cross the polar circle with snowshoes. The Arctic Circle Centre itself is closed and is partially buried under heavy snow masses in the winter.

On our way back to Rognan, we make a stop at the Nordland National Park Museum. It has a great hiking area (including a small climbing park). The museum itself focuses on the various national parks in the area, local wildlife and Sami culture – and it even houses a beautiful art gallery.

We issue our own Arctic Circle Club certificates to anyone who has been with us on this trip.
